Matt Kiemeney
Matt Kirmeney's Journey with Earthworks Mafia
With over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, I have had the privilege of working on a wide range of construction projects, gaining valuable insights and skills along the way.
After earning my diploma in Geomatics, I began my career in Alberta as a Land Surveyor, a role I fulfilled for four years. Eventually, my desire to be closer to family and friends brought me back to Manitoba.
My entrepreneurial spirit led me to leave a successful sales position I had held for four years. Recognizing an opportunity in the aggregate sector, I partnered with Gil, a high school friend with over 24 years of experience in the aggregate business, to establish Mr. Gravel Inc. Together, we built a company known for its high-quality gravel supply and exceptional customer service.
Driven by our success and the desire to expand our services, we decided to venture into the excavation and earthmoving sector. This led to the creation of Earthworks Mafia. Combining our extensive experience and commitment to excellence, we aim to provide top-notch excavation and earthmoving services to our community, continuing the legacy of quality and reliability we established with Mr. Gravel Inc.
Gil Ross
Gil Ross's Journey with Earthworks Mafia
I have lived in Ste. Anne, Manitoba, for the past 36 years. My journey in the gravel industry began at the age of 16, and I have been dedicated to this field ever since.
For the past 30 years, I have operated heavy equipment, spending 20 of those years as a foreman with my previous employer. Throughout this time, I have installed numerous septic fields and provided extensive excavation services.
With this wealth of experience, Matt and I decided it was time to start our own gravel business. In 2017, we established Mr. Gravel Inc., and we are proud to serve our community with the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Building on our success with Mr. Gravel Inc., Matt and I saw an opportunity to expand into the excavation and earthmoving sector. This led to the creation of Earthworks Mafia. Combining my extensive experience in heavy equipment operation and excavation services with Matt's entrepreneurial spirit and construction expertise, we aim to deliver exceptional excavation and earthmoving solutions to our clients, continuing our commitment to excellence and community service.
